Building a more inclusive and equitable economy that works for everyone requires each of us to reimagine how we do business, remove barriers to opportunity, and reshape practices and policies. It is true that businesses owned by People of Color and women are underfunded and under-resourced. B Lab U.S. & Canada launched the Level program in 2021 with the ultimate goal of reducing barriers to B Corp Certification. This flagship program aims to support businesses led by Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color who also identify as women while they work alongside B Corp consulting firms through the B Corp Certification process. This additional support helps to level the playing field as the Level businesses measure and improve their impact, tell their story, adopt legal stakeholder governance, and certify as a B Corp.
